DEALING WITH THE LISTING BROKER OR A REFERRAL COMPANY.
Ask if you are speaking with the broker that will be listing your home. Ask if
the person you are speaking with is licensed. Most states do not permit
unlicensed persons to perform sales assistance on the telephone. Many
states require fees, commissions, valuation assistance, price determination, and
marketing questions to only be answered by a licensee in the state where the
property is located. Verify that the broker you are dealing with is
licensed in the state where your property is located. You have less
recourse against unlicensed entities and out of state brokers.
